How are NdFeB permanent magnets manufactured?
Mar 12, 2023| Everyone knows that NdFeB permanent magnets are strong magnets produced by processing and manufacturing tetragonal crystals formed of neodymium, iron, and boron. So, what is the specific manufacturing process?
The manufacturing process of NdFeB permanent magnets is as follows:
1. Powder
Rare earth materials such as neodymium, iron, and boron are broken into small pieces, and then polished repeatedly. After polishing, they are ground into powder with a nitrogen mill.
2. Pressure sintering
After the powder required for the NdFeB permanent magnet is ready, it will come to the molding workshop of the Guangdong magnet manufacturer, and then it will be sintered into multiple parts at high temperature. For example, an NdFeB permanent magnet with a diameter of 20mm needs to be made into a 20mm cylinder, and the cylinder is generally 20 * 36MM. Of course, there are also different sizes, and we support drawing customization.
3. Deep processing
(1) Grinding and coating
Workers transfer the newly pressed parts (pillars) to the polishing workshop, and then the NdFeB permanent magnets can be plated in galvanized, nickel, copper, nickel, colored zinc, black zinc and other colors.
(2) Wire cutting
After sintering at high temperatures, the molded parts are bonded together before they are sent to a slicing shop for wire cutting.
(3) Electroplating and magnetization. After the above two steps, the NdFeB permanent magnet will become dirty, so it needs to be cleaned. After cleaning, it can be chamfered, galvanized and magnetized.
(4) Test packaging. After the NdFeB permanent magnets are manufactured, the magnets will be packed into boxes according to customer requirements.
