What is Orientation Forming in NdFeB Magnet Processing?

Mar 03, 2023|

NdFeB magnets are actually the current NdFeB magnets. During processing, the orientation of the magnetic field will be shaped. What is this?

The magnetic field orientation forming of NdFeB magnet is to use the interaction between magnetic powder and external magnetic field to arrange the easy magnetization direction of powder particles so that it is consistent with the final magnetization direction of the magnet. This is the most commonly used method to obtain anisotropic magnets. method.

In the industrial production of NdFeB magnets, at present, press forming methods are divided into two categories: one-time forming and two-time forming:

1. Once formed

For one-time forming of NdFeB magnets, one-way press (generally 50-100MPa pressure, compact density 55%-60% solid density) or cold isostatic press (generally 200MPa pressure, compact density 60 % solid density).

2. Twice forming

Regarding the two-time forming of NdFeB magnets, a one-way press (generally 20-30MPa in pressure, 45% compact density) and a cold isostatic press (generally 200MPa in pressure, 60% in compact density) can be used solid density).

During the magnetic field orientation forming process of NdFeB magnets, the alloy powder basically retains the state of c-axis orientation alignment. After the pressing is completed, the blank is demagnetized (clearing the damage of the magnetic dipole interaction between the magnetic powder particles to the orientation of adjacent particles), and then demolded. . A blank with a good orientation in the direction of easy magnetization can be obtained.
